1991

In my second year at Toorak College, I became the Head of Year 10, after the imposing Faye Cheatley vacated the position to become Head of English. Mark Richo, Elaine Johnson, Kerrie Kollias, Barb O'Brien, Marg Brown and Cathy LaBrooy were my trusty Tutors. I also became the Head of Hamilton House by default I think. This association to Hamilton House has been one of the most rewarding parts of teaching at Toorak College. My daughter Kiah was in Hamilton. It was also the year that we pushed to have MAC computers installed in the staffroom in order to write our reports on the tractor feed paper. We reported on Effort, Organisation, Participation and Resourcefulness along with Assessment Tasks. Warrick Wynne was also poached from Hastings High School to teach Literature at the school. Great to have the old team back together again. I was also building our third home in Rye. School for the students started on the 4th February using a 6 day timetable. Hell for Part-Time teachers. Parent Teacher nights occurred on individual nights for each year level. I had 32 students in my Year 10 Maths class! My Space and Number class came up with me to Year 12, a great year of teaching. I recently received an email from Ali Taylor with images from this class. I don't know what made me do it, but I was holding a pink gun to Jennifer Mok's head, sorry Jen.

Do you like the 'Mo'?

My very talented Year 12 class - look at 'The Brat'
The amazing Lee Yen Lee - now Dr Lee
