1997

Deborah Manduapessy (OAM) was in Year 12 this year. She was awarded the OAM for her work in Bali with the Australian Embassy in the aftermath of the bombings in 2002. However, when Deb first started at TC she became famous in Year 10 for the size of her mobile phone bill. I was asked by her parents in Indonesia to confiscate her phone! She mentioned this story to the Valedictorians of 2007 when she was invited back as the special guest speaker. She captivated the whole audience with her speech.

In the back row, I am standing next to Peter Coombs and Andrew Potter. Peter is now the Principal of an International School in the Netherlands. Potts came back to TC recently to attend the farewell to Barb O'Brien who retired in 2014. Next to Potts is Phil Schmidt who I caught up with in 2015 at a Maths Conference, he hasn't changed.

Yr 11 Executive - a couple of Doctors in the front row and an Accountant (Sarah) who came back to TC a few times to conduct the annual audit.

At least the Tu Tu has gone!
I received a lovely letter recently (2016) from Eliza Taylor (nee Poyser) from the Year 12 class of 1997. She is teaching at a Primary School on the Gold Coast. Her best mates in those days were Micah Jones, Nicola McKinnon and Michelle Evans. I think Nicola McKinnon was the Head Girl.
